I'd really like to use the gravatar function, but my User Name here on PS3-Themes is "F-Rott". Unfortunately, gravatar doesn't accept spaces or punctuation.

Just a heads up for others.

DON'T add anything other than letters with no spaces for gravatar to work!

Whaddaya know? There it is… 🙂

It only works on the Forums though, so heads up still stands as far as the site and comments are concerned.

The avatar is based on your email adress and not your username. And if it doesn't appear straight away on the comments section it's because of our cache system which refreshes once in a while.

I need help too, guys, not only with gravatar but also with signature...

GRAVATAR: I connected to "gravatar.com" site, but it only says "Are you a WordPress user? Please log in!" and instead of asking me the email address, it says to enter username and password (which I don't have)... What's wrong?

SIGNATURE: I created an image that I'd like to set as my signature in the forum, but when I click on INSERT/EDIT IMAGE button, in the dialog box that appears the tool asks me to enter the URL. Well, I don't want to publish this image uploading it somewhere just to be able to use it here, so... how can I do? Is there another way?

Thanks in advance! Laugh

There should be a button on the left hand side which says "Get your Gravatar today". Click it and follow the instructions.

As for the signature that's the only way atm. Or just use text.

Ok, it seems it has worked! Now, my signature... 😛

Thanks a lot! Laugh

P.S. Hey guys! I noticed that you forgot to insert this emoticon " 😛 " to use here in the forum...

Ehm... sorry guys, but... about my signature... well, I uploaded the image (a normal .png format) on "turboimagehost", then I clicked on INSERT/EDIT IMAGE button and in the dialog box I pasted the URL, specified width/height and clicked on INSERT button, but the only thing that appears is an empty space with a red X in the top left corner.

I'm trying everything, but there's nothing to do Cry

Am I doing something wrong...?

I tried each one of those available

http://www.turboimagehost.com/.....X.png.html (just to be sure...)

but nothing has changed: always the empty space...

You must use the direct link to the image without any tags or html around it.

so right click and copy link location on this link: http://s1d4.turboimagehost.com.....PT-PSX.png

Ok, I tried and it works (sorry guys, but I'm not so handy with these things... Embarassed)

Just one thing (the last, I promise Laugh): when I insert the image, its size is 120x35 (but the real size was 420x320) and if I try to increase that value, the image becomes terribly blurred and unwatchable, of course...

So... is that 120x35 the only limit allowed?

When I load the image, it says it's 152 x 116. That might be why it blurs at a larger size.

Well, I think that everything depends on the initial size of the image...

The problem is that a value of 120x35 is too low for the image I created, because what I wrote inside of it is unreadable. But if I try to restore it to its original size (420x320) is even worse.

All my efforts to make that image... wasted Cry

Hey, Dahl! Welcome to the forum! Laugh

Well, I had the same problem, although they explained me how to do.

So, I searched " http://www.gravatar.com " with google and I found several sites: they were all the same and many of them gave me errors. Then I found a different one which only asked to enter the email, so I followed the instructions and I finally got to use my personal icon.

If I remember correctly, this site has only a white home page where it says "All we need is your email address! You will receive... etc... etc..." and below there's just the space to enter the email.

Try that!

Yeah, well... I've been there already, but that's exactly the site I was talking about: when you click on "Get your Gravatar today" and then enter the email, it gives error.

Instead, the one I've found has only a white home page in which it just asks to enter the email. And it worked (fortunately... Laugh)

However, I've the impression that it works according to the country where the user resides: in fact, every english site that I tried gave me error, but the italian one has immediately worked...
