Q&A

Why and what is a dynamic GlideShow?

Basicly it's moving slideshow but you choose to move left, right, up or down

What is a dynamic theme?

A dynamic theme is simply a theme with a moving background made up with 3D models, textures and a script.

What's the difference between animated and dynamic themes?

Animated themes only have 1 effect which is a very fast slideshow, where as dynamic themes include multipe effects.

Why can't I edit the .js script with this style?

This is only tempory and the teaching of the script will come soon Laugh. I can and will be adding more elements/effects to the background like a rotating logo. Ideas are welcomed to Laugh

What are your plans for this year?

It's not really a plan but my aim is to get new users/members to create themes using mine and others help... and of course for FREE Wink

Feedback is always welcome so if you like/dislike this tell me why? or simply say thank you Smile

Have fun and enjoy! Laugh

Yo GlowBall maaan. That is AWESOME. As far as additions, the static logo would be something I can use since I usually put a logo on my themes. Also maybe a static border on the top and bottom. The SlideSlow (SlideFlow - idk) is what I'm after. The same additions for that too would be great. I will use both styles. I have themes ready for those. Check you're PM.

EDIT: I just watched the whole tutorial. Thanks for the shoutout. You didn't have to do that. You did all the work. I just had an idea that wasn't original. Thank you for doing this.

any help will be useful?

CONVERTING JPG TO DDS
'JPG2DDS.exe' is not recognised as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
CONVERTING DDS TO GIF…
'dds2gif.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
press any key to continue…
BUILDING SLIDESHOW BACKGROUND…
'rafbuilder.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

I remember GlowBall addressing this in another thread. I think the problem was that when the person extracted GlowBall's files they didn't use the 'extract here' option. Make sure you don't have a Glideshow folder inside the Glideshow folder. The same with the PS3AlphaSlideshow folder. When you open those folders there shouldn't be a folder with the same name in there. Also in the tutorial GlowBall put the extracted folders in a 'PS3THEMES' folder. If the above solution isn't the problem maybe taking those folders out of the 'PS3THEMES' folder and putting them in the root of the C: drive (along side your Program Files folder) may help.

Just had a thought, is their anyway you could get a theme to switch from 1 to the other.
I mean if we include two raf files with the xml scripts could this work instantly though?
Surprised

Yes you can.
For instance you can name one RAF file "anim_1.raf" and the other "anim_2.raf". Adjust the XML in the folder with the RAF compiler accordingly. If you want to upload it here the P3T has be less than 15mb. If it's more than that but you still want to upload it here, do what I did with my Bayonetta Dynamic Themes. I posted both themes separately with a mediafire link to the Multi-Dynamic version in the description. The size of your theme is usually affected by how many colors it has. I was able to uplaod my Journey Multi-Dynamic Theme here. The 2 themes added up to about 13mb.

I don't think you can do it with the GlideShow because I think the XML is encrypted.
The Animated Window, Animated Border and Animated Full styles are unencrypted and the styles Faxtron created are unencrypted too. You can do Multi-Dynamic Themes (MDT) with those styles.

regarding the Multi Dynamic Themes the themes don't switch with each other automatically, meaning when one set finishes it does not move to the next set.

when i go to the psn store then come back it changes which is not what i really want.

am i doing something wrong or is this the way it is?

Confused

Yeah that's the way they work. They change everytime the XMB boots up. What you want is the way the official Journey theme works. I think Faxtron said he's trying to create that scropt. For now 'we' can't do that.

Man, I think he refers to the effect from my theme SlideShow Plus that change automatically from glide to fade without changing or switch from raf to raf everytime the XMB boots up. That theme (Graffiti) have two effects running at the same time using the script. About that method I will release that tutorial soon. For the method of the journey official theme is another method I will release soon totally different from the used in the plus method. I have both methods completed. One theme that use the first method is used in my graffiti theme and I will release other soon using the second method that is the one like the journey official.

BTW :This method and the alpha are curious because are using something to compile that he told me not recommend to use, the RAF pack called now RAF builder. lol

@Saqurado - the earlier SlideSlow styles provided by GlowBall have unencrypted JS scripts. The scripts provided by Faxtron are unencrypted also.

@uLtRaMa6nEt1c - cool, but for my theme I need exactly this style, where one background pushing another (up). can I do that with the previous styles?

You can, but unfortunately you would have to alter the script a little. Like you said that's not your thing.
Send me your pics in a PM and I can do it for you. Let me know how long you want the pics to stay on screen and how fast you want them to slide up.

thats the thing. I dont know what speed, switch time etc. I am very demanding when it comes to my themes. thats why I dont like what GlowBall proposes. he made theme and said that we can change pics on it. useless. I can modify it on my own (trial and error), but it will last forever. and again, why? if someone already done it
