Hey guys, I'm trying to make the default theme but with FF7 menu SFX and after I convert to VAG, it sounds perfectly fine, but once I Build Theme and get it on my PS3 the sounds are distorted (it sounds like the pitch has gone up). Here are the 3 sounds I'm using if anyone wants to see if they can get them to sound the same on the PS3:

(they're all less than 10KB, 41000 and less than 1 second long so not sure why it sounds messed up).

Yeah I used that program and one called MFAudio. The VAG files sound fine but as soon as I process it through the Theme Builder it messes them up. Not a big difference really I can live with it. Thanks anyway.

MFaudio puts a loop onto the vag files so you have to make sure your wav files have a bit of a silence at the start and end. Here are your sounds without the loop see how they sound now http://www.mediafire.com/?3lhp.....ualbqt06y3

Same result. If you make a blank theme in theme builder 4.0 and just add the SFX, then go to your PS3 you'll be able to hear yourself. Its a tad annoying but the XMB mustn't be able to playback these sounds or something. The pitch is high, most noticeable on the 'confirm.vag' sound.

@AaronZ:

I used to put sounds in my themes long ago, and sometimes I had the same problem.

First of all, when converting to VAG, you have to be sure that the output sound's values are absolutely identical to the input sound ones (frequency, bit, etc)

Well, the first thing I noticed is that the frequency you used is 41KHz: usually, this parameter already affects the sound's quality, because it must be of 44100...

Now, I suggest you to start changing the frequency value to see how's the sound, and then let me know.

(Another thing I can suggest you is to edit sounds by using a simple and free program called "Audacity", which allows you to modify all the parameters you want, to get the best quality possible.)
