I created a theme which loads fine for me. However, when I sent it to a friend, his PS3 wouldn't recognize anything. So I uploaded to my website. When downloading to a PS3 it only opens the file, it doesn't actually save or let it be installed. Can someone help me please?

Thanks in advance for the help and suggestions.

Your friend may have to install through a usb memory stick. Download your theme then follow these staeps

1. Create a folder called PS3 on the usb

2. Create a folder within the PS3 folder called THEME

3. Copy you .p3t theme into the THEME folder and install on your PS3

Basic look at the sequence

USB - PS3 - THEME - p3t file

Will you share your theme with us here?

GlowBall,

Thanks for responding. We spent 2 hours the other night because his PS3 wouldn't recognize the USB – PS3 – THEME – p3t . So I have been trying to figure out alternate ways. It may be up here under misc. It's not very good at the moment, just a work in progress.. vgv.p3t it can also be found at http://vgv.igrafxs.com/vgv.p3t

You just answered your own question lol. Get your friend to go to this thread on his ps3 browser and where you give me the link to your theme (don't click it) press triangle when pointed on the link go to file and save target. It will then download to your themes section.

You are correct the theme is WIP but at least your creating fella. For the usb thing you create a PS3 folder first then a THEME folder within the PS3 one. You do not create a USB folder and you have to use CAPITALS lol.

I use the raf_compiler.exe to create dynamic themes. To make a dynamic theme with the raf_compiler.exe you have to have a comination of .xml, .js (psjs script), .dae models and textures to go with them. Why not start on making an animated theme. Here is a link to my tutorial /forum/ps3-themes/how-to-create-animated-themes-tutorial/

The reason they are called animated themes is cus they are more like a fast slideshow (animation) than a background including various effects (dynamic).

If you need help with the tutorial please post on the tutorial thread or pm me Smile
