[Tutorial] How to create a SlideShow Plus (Zoom) theme.
Well in this tutorial I will show you how to create a SlideShow Plus (Zoom) theme. This is very, very simple to do using the raf tools as always. This time the theme will contain 15 HD images with a resolution of 1920x1080 but you can use a maximum of 19 images if you want with a resolution of 1700x956.
** This is not hard to achieve and is safe but if you modify the code in a wrong manner you can get a XML-Brick. All the files given here are safe to use following this tutorial. Without manipulations on the files this is safe. But if you make changes I will not be responsible for your mistake. No one here including PS3_themes staff and myself will be held responsible for any damage caused. This can cause semi-bricks and for more than a semi-brick is very easy to fix no one will want to pass from a situation like that. Don’t modify the files if you don’t know what your doing. If you decide to try and modify the files an get a semi-brick go to recovery menu to repair your mistake. **
As all my files provided in my tutorials you are free to add new ideas and you are free to make modifications on those files but with wisdom, knowledge and responsibility needed. If you don’t know what your doing please don’t make modifications on those files.
Ok; knowing that…
Let’s start with this process
Tools you will need to create your theme :
1-Photoshop or Gimp to manipulate the images.
2- NVIDIA DDS pluggins for Photoshop to save the images bgs to dds if it needed. (DXT1 RGB 4 bpp | no alpha)
https://developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-texture-tools-adobe-photoshop
3-Notepad ++ for edit .xml and .js
http://notepad-plus-plus.org/download/v5.9.3.html
4- And the exes and files to compile the raf. Are the same tools used for the creation of SlideShow, Animated or Dynamic themes. Nothing is new here.
5. (OPTIONAL) Finally our DCC application in this case “Blender” and Why ? Blender, because is a free open source 3D content creation suite that you can use without problems to save your files in DAE format needed for our purpose.
http://www.blender.org/download/get-blender/
6. Example files or material nedeed to be used to finally create your SlideShow Plus (Zoom) theme :
http://www.mediafire.com/download/b7ytf6x5d26v67d/Plus_Zoom.rar
**Inside the pack are the files to create the theme without the zoom effect too, so if you only want the theme with fade effect use the files that are inside the folder called " Without Zoom".**
7. (Opcional) For safety reasons I recommend to download, install and use this special .p3t called : “Raf_loader.p3t” is needed in cases that you don’t want to install the theme everytime to test it. The theme will load the theme directly from the USB so if something goes wrong you never be able to get a XML-Brick. The only problem is that only works in consoles with CFW from 3.55 to 4.41.
Download : http://www.mediafire.com/?mwacxx4poe2xltx
Ok; To create a theme with a SlideShow Plus with a little zoom effect on it you have first to have the image (.jpg converted to DDS) in a resolution of 1920x1080 and renowned as bg01.jpg to bg15.
If you don’t want to convert the jpgs using photoshop you can use this tool to convert the jpgs to dds easy.
http://www.mediafire.com/download/0x8ecxqdbkaekk5/JPG2DDS.rar
Extract the pack in C:/ and put all the images “jpgs” to use inside that folder and run the bat. In a few seconds you will get the dds ready to use
Now it’s time to put all the images in the folder pack you already downloaded with the other files needed as : script xml, js, dae files, etc to finally compile the raf. You should have something like this inside the folder :
1. bg01,bg02,….bg09,bg10, etc.
2. Bg.dae
3. PSJS.js
4. PSJS.xml
The next step on this tutorial once you have all ready is the compilation of the raf for your theme and the only thing you have to do is copy all those elements DDS, DAE, js and XML in the same folder that you have the raf tools and the other files or simply drag and drop the XML to the folder you have the raf tools :
1. raf_anim.exe
2. raf_compiler.exe
3. raf_compiler.inf
4. raf_geom.exe
5. raf_pack.exe
6. raf_script.exe
7. dds2gtf.exe
To compile the raf drag and drop the XML for the raf to the folder that you have all the raf tools to the raf_compiler.exe. Remember cero spaces in the name of the folders of any file folders you are working. As soon the raf_compiler finish the job you will get a file called : PSJS.raf ready to use.
Ok; once you get your raf copy that file to the folder you have your icons and the xml to finally compile your p3t or theme and drag and drop like always you do the XML to the P3T_Compiler.exe. Remember check the XML to be sure the files are renamed acording to all your files to avoid failure in the compilation.
The final product will look like this :
Let's see what I can do for a next contribution.

Thank you for giving this to us.
What are the differences from GlowBall's version?
It seems that you were able to raise the amount of pics to 15. We could only do 7 before, right?
I see the image still fades. Do the images change randomly?
I'm just trying to figure out which fits my needs better
The first differece are the code, the second is the amount of images you can use now 15 HD with a resolution of 1920x1080 or 19 with a resolution of 1700x956, third and most important of all you can do whatever you want to do with it. If you want to add new ideas on it you are free to do it without restrictions.
BTW : Where is Glowball ?

Cool. I think that's why GlowBall had to limit the amount of pics to 7 or 8 or whatever it was because he added the random effect.
Well who knows but the code used here is totally different from Glowball code so maybe is possible to do it with this one. You can try to do it if you want too with this code I dont have problems with that. Im working in others scripts and to achieve this "random" as the same as others I have to do it with the old trick that you know well : "Using the try and a fail method". ha,ha,ha…
As you know I leave the code here and without encryptions for that reason. If you or other user have an idea or need "X" effect there, you can try to add it by yourself. Who knows if you get the effect first than me. Im not doing all this for other reason than that. I leave it here to all of you for that. So, if you can and want you are free to add all the ideas you need there.
You know I feel I'm wasting my time here. Nobody use it, nobody make comments about it, nobody try to add nothing in it, even nobody give a simple thanks for this exept you. So I think this will be my last contribution for this shit here. I think as I said before I'm wasting my time here trying to help with this to achieve new styles because nobody do nothing with it.

Yeah, I know what you mean and it sucks to feel that way.
There are only a few of us advanced dynamic theme makers here. Plus it's the end of this console cycle.
Of course it's up to you what you want to do, but I won't hesitate to ask you a question if I need to
I always say thanks because even if I don't use some stuff I appreciate that you continue to provide this community with so many methods and choices.

@faxtron , hay buddy i will make some themes using all your methods asap and i thank u for all your hard work /time effort ... u rock
Thanks my friend. Long time I don't see nothing new from you here. Anyway what about the material I send you to create themes without writing the elements in the PSJS. Do you understand the files, the source code for the theme I sent you. You study those files or compile that example theme to take it an idea how it works. Man I ask you because I gave you those files long time ago and I don't know if those files help you in some way or another. You never contact me to know if works for you, if you understand it or anything. I know that I have to create a complete tutorial about it here, is only that to do it I need time because will be a little extensive and will be writed and with a few video tutorials integrated not only writed because I will have to explain how to create the dae dynamic in blender. Lets see if I feel motivated and I have the time to do it soon.

Good news. I hope this time Glowball give us the files without encryption for all of us here to learn from those files more easy and without problems or restrictions

I've always appreciated your tutorials, Faxtron. I've been using them a lot recently. It's all a bit over my head, but I keep trying.
Thanks for the help, past, present, and hopefully future.
Thanks my friend for the feedback. You know I'm very happy that those files are helpful to someone. If I don't see movement in the thread I think no one cares about it or are not interested in it and that is the reason I said what I said to ultra. But I see I'm wrong is helping after all.

Creating dynamic themes without writing elements to the PSJS? That sounds interesting. I wonder how that works
Yes man that is possible. You will be surprised with the results and you have to know that this technique is used in a few official themes to create and add elements dynamics. One of my themes already use this method the theme for hypnotic eye for example. I have some more themes created using this method but I need time to release those files because I'm still working on how to release it. And as I said I need time to do it because I think this tutorial will be a little extensive. The idea is easy and to give you a hint it possible to do it using bones to create the dae dynamic in our 3D softwere.
