I reorganized and modified Faxtron's SlideShow Plus (Zoom) by eliminating the ZOOM element and adding the RANDOM element from GlowBall's Pro SlideShow. I present to you all the...

Ultra Slideshow

Watch in HD with annotations turned ON.
---------------------

DOWNLOAD LINKS:

UltraSlideshowTheme.zip http://www.mediafire.com/downl.....wTheme.zip
Place the 'UltraSlideshowTheme' folder in a directory with NO spaces in its name.

This package includes:

  • The 'raf_compiler' files that are used with most other dynamic/slideshow themes.
  • The XML and JS scripts as well as new DAE files.
  • The 'p3tcompiler' which is needed to put your theme together.
  • A 'Theme' folder with all icons/images and the theme's XML file.

Notepad++ http://notepad-plus-plus.org/d.....6.2.2.html
This is optional, but recommended (and free). You can use Notepad to alter the XML and JS scripts if you wish.

NVIDIA DDS Plugin for Photoshop
https://developer.nvidia.com/n.....-photoshop

---------------------

EXAMPLES:

This is basically what this style is made for.

...or you can do something simple like making a static logo.

Here I didn't use the Image.dds at all. This is a MDT (Multi Dynamic Theme). Each of the 2 themes has 12 backgrounds that change every 1.7 seconds. No 'random'. No 'fade'. Each of the 4 changing panels are on 4 consecutive backgrounds. Each background offset by 1 panel to create this effect.

These are just a few examples of what the Ultra Slideshow is capable of. You can make borders, frames, or anything you want in any shape.

12 1920x1080 background max with Image.dds.
15 1920x1080 background max without Image.dds.

To make an Ultra Slideshow without the 'Image.dds' delete this part in the UltraSlideshow.xml.

---------------------

Add to the Ultra Slideshow:

How to make a Multi Dynamic Theme (MDT)

How to make a Day/Night MDT

---------------------

TIPS & INFO:

* The 1st background is random. The next backgrounds will display in the order they were named.

* If you use p3textractor.exe to get icons from another theme you can drop them right in the THEME folder and overwrite. The file names are the same.

* When editing the UltraSlideshow.xml you can't use the "&" and "+" symbols. There are probably other symbols you can't use also, so if you run into errors keep that in mind.

*Try the Ultra Slideshow Lite to make a classic slideshow. Semi-automated. No installations. No plugins needed.

A HUGE "Thank you" to Faxtron and GlowBall.
A special thanks to DemiGod7, Lanes8, and a few others for helping me test it.

I like the "Last of Us" style and is what I've been doing and I'll try to check yours out. Now, I can't afford Photoshop, but can I use GIMP and/or PhotoScape as a substitution? I really love the GTA V style and icons.

@Lanes8 > Thanks for checking it out. If you have a way to save DDS files with an alpha channel then there should be no problem. Check your PM Laugh

Im using Paint .NET for dss. free, open and works on very old cpus without SSE2 instructions unlike nvidia plugin. u can also do something like photoshops "automate". just open all background as layers, save as pdn. then you need download "layer saver" for paint net, which will save all layers from pdn as separate dds files

@Saqurado > Thanks for checking this out. I'll be making a tutorial for the SlideFlow (panorama) soon too. I altered the script and made 4 separate ones for each direction. Thanks for helping me out with that Smile

Quick question, where can I find the PS3tcomplier? Can I use one from another tutorial? Also does the Image.dds need to be in there since the way I do it I don't use the transparent image, since I add the image to the left of every image.

@Lanes8 > the p3tcompiler is in the TOOLS folder of the DYNAMIC THEME EDITOR in the tab at the top of the page.
You have to use the Image.dds. You could do it the way you were doing it, but you would have to alter the script. It's not hard to do, but it's a pain in the ass to explain. If you REALLY want to do it that way I'll tell you how.

@uLtRaMa6nEt1c; okay I've got that now.

Now I'm having some trouble trying to build the the RAF. When I drag the XML to the RAF Compiler it only shows the CMD screen for a second and it doesn't make the RAF file. I've followed the video provided, but I have not idea what I'm doing wrong. Could I be missing something? I'll try again soon and I hope this time it works.

@Lanes8 > If you are working out of the 'Ultra Slideshow' folder, rename that folder 'UltraSlideshow' (remove the space). I fixed it in the link too.

General tips:
Make sure the tools/scripts folder is in a folder that doesn't have spaces in the folder name. The root of the C: drive is usually the best place. Make sure everything matches. For example if you only have 10 images make sure that's reflected in the XML and JS scripts. Double check the file names that they are bg01, bg02 and so on. Usually the RAF doesn't compile because something doesn't match, or something is missing.

@fonzfonzi > If you don't want random just put a zero Laugh, but never change the +1 (in the JS file). That's what stops the PS3 from sometimes choosing a black screen instead of your background.

I checked my theme, but it only shows 3 images out of 12. Would I have to change the anim length?

I re-installed it and it shows all images, but will I have to do that all the time and tell everyone to do that?

@Lanes8 > i've made 4 themes with it and never encountered that problem. I hope that's just a fluke and not something we have to worry about.
Thanks for trying it out Smile
