fireworks does all that too, to do with the pen tool at the start, now its my best friend, mw2 theme is….technically finished but im not 100% sure how the icons line up on thee 1920X1080 background, oh how i miss my ps3

Honestly I hate photoshop and as you said took ages to do anything (HAHAHA! sounds good :D)
I have a pile of graphic programs, but for the icons I prefer to use RealWorldPaint ’cause is really versatile and I can do everything I want: from the very simple drawing to the most complicated icon or anything else with all effects, layers, transparencies, ect…

well fireworks is was worth 500 for the updated version at the time, but i got it free, and photoshop cost 1,300 with the update, but i got it free, fireworks is fine, photoshop took ages to do….anything,and i was so use to fireworks i couldnt make the switch,maybe with a better computer but not now. only thing i would want from photoshop is the wide variety of brushes for backgrounds, cant get any for fireworks but there are ways around it

I’m sure your theme will be good as usual. My computer is slow too. I use RealWorldPaint and PhotoFiltre to work on icons/backgrounds: the first one is semiprofessional but not complicated (both are free, light, fast & easy to use); give it a try and let me know.

nearly finished mw2 theme, i just hope the icons are the same on the ps3 than on the computer, there have been occasions where there are subtle differences, because of the overlays, screens, color burns and all that, the ps3 doesn’t recognize that stuff, what programme do you use, i use fireworks for everything, my computer is too slow to run photoshop, but iv grown very fond of fireworks alot quicker and easier to use in my opinion

Just think that when you’ll buy ps3 slim, you’ll be able to see not only the icons of your “creature” every time you want… 😀

mw2 theme is looking sweet so far, would love to see the icons on the ps3 though
well i have a good idea of what they should look like. theres no turning back now though, my mw2 theme has gone too far 🙂 to be honest i don’t really have anything else to do anyway

Mmm, I see… So, why don’t you make a XMB template? It would be a standard for all your HD backgrounds, don’t you think…?

just for the backgrounds really, i like to be sure, especially for the HD backgrounds, i need to see the placement of icons if i have them overlayed on something, especially since 3.0 moves the homerow icons up when hovered over

Yep, I heard about it. Sony quickly made fw 3.01, but I’ve not updated yet…
When I read ‘no themes from you for about 6 months because your ps3 was dead’ I thought to tell you: NOOOO!!! What prevent you from doing other themes? Ps3 is not indispensable. I mean… I know that a good theme must be tested before upload, but… c’mon we are “expert themers”: we don’t need a ps3 to make and upload our works. ;D

my 3rd ps3 just died, so don’t expect any themes from me for about 6 months, 2 ylod, and 1 blu ray failure, all random things that can happen at any time and are unavoidable, unfortunately i’m out of warranty, 100% failure rate in my books 🙁
