Here is (finally :P) your theme!
I’m sorry it took so long, but… you know, there were no suitable images to make a decent theme, so I used the only good one I found for a background and I enriched it with some small effect, but then I also decided to create another background from scratch with my own hands (which is the one you can see in the preview image) and… well, it’s been a hard work, because I obviously had to create pixel by pixel every single piece, from the hexagons to the smallest symbol… then, I made a render of Raiden from another image, creating a 3D effect, light and shadow and so on…
Another reason is that, as I told you last time, my health conditions are quite critical, so I’ve been able to work only when I felt good, therefore it took longer than expected. Sorry again… 
Well, mate, I sincerely hope you have a HDTV, because I worked on a very high quality image (although, saving it in jpeg format, there’s always a minimal loss of detail) and the SD image is obviously worse than HD one…
So, the theme contains:
-2 HD/SD backgrounds (1 standard + 1 totally handmade)
-handmade icons
-no boring sounds

Well, I’m working on several stuff at the moment, but I’ll see what I can do (although I think it’s veeeery difficult to find some good material of Final Fantasy VII)…

Uh, wait! My brain betrayed me once again, of course…
First of all, this Recovery Menu should be available for all PS3s, independently from type or version, because it has been implemented with firmware 2.50.
Second, if I remember correctly, this is the right procedure to get access to the menu:
A) with the PS3 turned on, hold the I/O button until it turns off.
B) once PS3 is turned off, hold the I/O button again, until you hear 2 (or 3, I don’t remember) consecutive beeps.
C) at this point, should be displayed a message saying to connect the controller via USB cable and to press the PS button.
D) as soon as you press the PS button, the following options will be displayed:
1) Restart System (it simply restarts the PS3)
2) Restore Default Settings (it resets all settings back to default)
3) Restore File System (I think it enables a check for corrupt and/or missing system files)
4) Rebuild Database (it should be related to some emergency procedure that rebuilds the PS3’s operating system)
5) Restore PS3 System (a quick restore which deletes and restarts everything from scratch)
6) System Update (ehm… does it really need an explanation? :D)
Well, you know, my japanese friend told me that time ago he had a problem very similar to yours and he solved it with the Recovery Menu, so I really think you should try it.
Trying doesn’t cost anything, after all…

Hey, about your PS3, I was thinking… did you try to enable the “hidden recovery menu”???
Well, I don’t know if it works for every version, but… when turning on the PS3, you just need to keep the finger on the I/O button for some seconds until you hear 3 bips: this way, the PS3 should reset all parameters while doing an internal diagnosis, and the recovery menu should appear and display several settings.
From there (assuming the problem is not serious and/or caused by a mechanical failure) you should be able to do something…
