I know what you mean, mate: I know it’s not easy maintaining efficient a system… but there’s no need to even dismantle it every time: cleaning it up costantly is enough
As I said, each new generation console is so technologically advanced that it’s inevitably more “problematic”…
Also, every Playstation always had fat and slim versions:
-PS1 (fat) became PSOne (slim)
-PS2 (fat) became PSTwo (slim)
I own both versions of them all, and they still work perfectly because I costantly care about them: think that my PS1 is 17 years old (I bought it at day 1 in 1994)… that’s the only trick.
It’s the natural evolution: when the project of a console is approved and the mass production starts, technology doesn’t stay to watch, but goes ahead… so, while the first versions are marketed, technicians and engineers have found new solutions to improve systems.
It’s like when you buy a car: surely the next year an improved version will be released…
Hey, glad to hear that, mate! I’ll be waiting!
(but don’t forget to use something like winrar, or winzip or zipgenius to compress all the files in one, otherwise I’ll need 10 years to save all your material… :D)
by the way optimus, im learning how to use the computer better, i should be able to get that material to you myself soon..
@ penning, i never said or assumed that they wher fighting for my rights personaly. i just think it was funny the way things worked out.. i just get mad at sony sometimes and i feel happy that sony got mad at a consumer for once! lol. no hard feelings..
you average consumer is not going to take the hood off of his or her system and dust it out, is not gonna disasemble the blue ray drive and use finger karate to readjust the gears or even realise that the reason that the laser blinks red and wont read is because its dirty, and typically all this shtuff happens after the warrenty is up. am i wrong for feeling like it sucks more than it should?
its just the fact that i hafto dismantle and repair my system every time somthing happens, its bogus. its a pain in the ass, optimus your n engineer.. maintaining your system would be easy for you.. i apreciate your opinion, hell thats why i asked for it. my gripe is that ive had the same ps2 since it came out, the lense never got efft up, it never overheated, the fan never sped up.. ect. the ps2 was built to last.. why wasnt the first model of ps3? the way they designed the slim, why didnt they come out with a system where the internal fan cools the prosseser more efficiently, the first time..
Bla bla bla. All hear say & no real proof. Anonymous claims they didn’t do Ever think someone @ microsoft had a hand in the attack? Could be a set up. Either way hacking is for the most part stupid. They, just like Sony, only care about themselves. It’s the world we live in.
OPTIMUS is correct- Some people do not know or care to take care of their $500 systems, then play the blame game. I personally don’t know anyone who’s had issues with their ps3’s. I just hear people bitching on the internet.
Nice little rant there Doom!? I’m happy you could get that off your chest. Maybe now you can sleep tight knowing there’s someone fighting for your rights O_o (That right there was just a little sarcastic. More kidding then anything. No hard feelings?)
They posted the wrong one. Its just a theme though, don’t 1 star it, because the background.
Lol! I understood your intention, and I agree that’s just a theme, but… better if you pay attention next time
@DOOM: Uhm, you want my opinion? Here it is…
Well, aside the fact I have the PS3 FAT 60GB bought at day 1, and I never had overheating problems or system bugs (as well as I never had malfunctions due to the firmware updates), I always condemned hacking actions, no matter what the intentions are: even if they say to do that just to defend our interests, the truth is hackers never really consider the collateral damages caused by their actions.
And what would be our interests, in their opinion?
Maybe not play for weeks because they’ve messed up Sony’s servers just to make their useless crusade?
I’m not an “online player”, so what happened doesn’t really matter to me, but I think all those who couldn’t take advantage of PSN should get angry with Anonymous (or whoever made that mess) instead of blaming Sony…
Every new system may have flaws or malfunctions (that’s why there’s a guarantee)… the REAL problem is that the more advanced a system is, the more problems will have because of its complexity: that’s the price we all have to pay for the so called “technological progress” (and that’s why I regret the good old days :P)…
Sony does not force us to buy Playstation 3… but once we bought it, guarantee or not, it’s up to us to correctly use the system, as well as the discs and the accessories:
The Playstation overheats? Maybe because it’s full of dust and the user has never cared to remove it.
The Playstation no longer reads the disc? Maybe the lens is soiled, or the disc is scratched.
The Playstation already got YLOD just after few months? Yeah, it could be a flaw or stuff like that (and as I said, there’s the guarantee) but very often it all depends on us: I’m not joking when I say I even saw people eating on it… O_O
If we don’t care to preserve what we buy, we cannot complain when something’s broken.
All the consoles I collected since the 70’s, still work perfectly: that’s because I always cared about them…
Anyway, back to the speech, I’m sure all that mess could have been avoided if some f***ing hacker had thought to mind his own business instead of trying to violate the Playstation at all costs: the hacking action of Anonymous or whoever it was, has been just a retaliation against Sony for having prosecuted by law those idiots, not to defend our interests…
They posted the wrong one. Its just a theme though, don’t 1 star it, because the background.
on behalf of everyone that had to shell out thir hard earned cash to fix there problem with sonys shenanigans… if your out there reading this anonymous, thank you, thank you for making them feel what its like to pay for n INTERNAL ERROR!!! LMFAO! XD.
but i wont stop using the playstation system, i like what i can do with it, geohot liked what he could do with it too.. look what happened to geohot!! sony tryed to sue his ass, lol, guess id better be careful how mutch fun i have on here.. lol.
i am not anonymous… i am llll_DooM_llll. i am your average consumer. just wishing that i got what i payed for.. but i might hafto pay the same price again, for what i thoght i payed for the first time….
heres n OFFER that i would love!!! the next time my system needs to be fixed because of an internal engineering problem that in the present time has been updated and corrected by the creation of the ‘slim’!!, when i send my outdated system to your fudge factory, dont send me a refurbished faulty system back to me, take my personal internal drive and insert it into a F***ING SLIM!!!! honestly sony.. how mutch do you care about the consumer!? christ you basically hafto be n engineer to keep the ‘ps3 fat’ from expiring. so how about the next time someones system that they payed thir hard earned cash for dies and they send it to you to be fixed, dont send them the same mistakes you have made before!!! instead, as a WELCOME BACK package!!! send back a system that performs BETTER!! mutch like what they thought they wher paying for in the first place…
so sony went after this ‘geohot’ guy for making his system do things that it was obviously capable of doing if you have the skill to make it do so.. then UH OH! you pissed off anonymous by going after geohot. anonymous then shuts sony network down and costs sony a ton of money! sony then beefs up thir security system and moves thir shit to a top secret hide out and offers us a ‘welcome back’ package that is “STILL” not available yet…….
in a way i think they are right for what they have done, so we got unpluged from the network for a while, although thir plan was to defend us instead of effect us negatively, if you look at it in a more mature way, thats what theve done. ive always felt that sony has done greedy things, and some of the game franchises aswell. personaly i think they should have made a system that is built to last, not built to over heat… ok, so ps3 isnt as bad as the 360 with overheating, still, we payed $500 for a system that cooks, is NOT backwards compatible, and if you want a BETTER system than the ps3 FAT, go drop ANOTHER $500 on a system where they actually put the fan in the system where it belongs.. or you can pay them $90 to fix your system every time it melts.
I HATE anonymous U MESSED MY GAMING UP SO I HATE U. NO anonymous THEMS.
hey optimus.. whats your opinion? lol
an anonymous theme? this theme is a statement in a way. anonymous cracked open sony like a can of bush beans and now there is a ps3 theme to represent who they are. humorous….
i wish sony would stop being so lazy and actually get the balls to seize the gaming market once and for alll.
Ehm… hi bro!
lol hi optimus!
