best theme ever but keeps crashing
I am very impressed with your theme building ingenuity Faxtron. I was hoping to see an awesome “300” Spartan animated clip like you did with your previous projects like Sin City / Planet Terror. Hopefully you might see this post and decide on taking on a 300 movie clip theme project in the future. Keep up the good work.

@FAXTRON: Yep, I perfectly understand your point of view, and I agree with you, mate… indeed, I didn’t mean to say all users with CFW are “pirates”. Actually, the problem is more complicated than it looks because it’s not only a matter of using or not the CFW, but it particularily regards all the possibilities offered by that kind of FW.
I would also like to use my console as I want, without restrictions and/or impositions (like the fact, for example, that I’m forced to update my console if I wanna play)… but the problem is that in this world, for every honest person there are always 9 others who are not.
So, thinking objectively, here lies the real problem in my opinion: if the Custom Firmware (or the jailbreak, or anything else) was legalized… how would it be possible to keep under control the activities of millions of other people who make an improper use of the possibility that was offered to them?
It’s as if all were free to run and do what they want with their cars: honest ones (maybe 10-20%) would keep driving properly and in compliance with the rules, but all the others (80-90%) would only create total chaos, and it would be impossible to keep them all under control…
If you think about it, we played and done almost everything we wanted for 5 years… but then, someone who doesn’t have a very clear vision of the difference between “doing in accordance with the rules” and “break those rules”, decided to tease the sleeping dog: and now we’re all paying for that decision because, you know, unfortunately there’s a thing called “free will” which can be a really dangerous weapon for the honest ones who think (and drive properly :P) like you and me…

@OPTIMUS I understand you but for me CFW is not equal to piracy.For me CFW user is a way to use my PS3 like the way I use my PC a free way to decide what I want or not in other words what I want to install or not. BTW I have the posibilities to use some things that if I don’t have the CFW I can’t use it like homebre games, capabilities removed by Sony and software like showtime player for example to play my MKV files or simply a homebrew game created by users. I know that some ones use programs to piracy and I agree with you to be against piracy but I can’t be against free way to use my console. But not all that implies jailbreak our console is piracy. You know today the consoles are like PCs, make it with more funcionalities that the old consoles. In fact for that reason in the begining of the release the ps3 the console came with Linux OS and is one of the reason I buy this console. Some time later Sony remove this funcionality like others. This console is more like a machine to play games and that its my point I want to use my console with all the capabilities he want without restrictions. I want to use my console with all the capabilities and funcionalities in a 100%. You know is like some one say what programs, or softwares I have to use in my PC or if I have a Mac I only have to use all from Apple. The new consoles are like PC in fact inside are like a PCs. Well, honestly I cannot blame Sony (although I disagree with some of its decisions and/or choices) because, you know, I always been against hacking or any piracy form.
Sony always tried to fight piracy since the PS1 days: but at that time, technology was relatively limited, so the only way to stem the problem was to redesign the console and the internal architecture of its hardware, so that it was more difficult understanding the processor’s operation.
In a sense, this “philosophy” continued over time, coming to the present day (that’s why both PS2 and PS3 have always been considered too difficult to program) but, in the case of PS3, technology now easily allows to change the console’s functions through updates which directly act on vital informations residing into dedicated processors, but the same technology also allows to take advantage of the updates to get those precious informations, in order to modify the console for an improper use (i.e. hacking and other stuff like that)…
So, the question is… How all this started? How was it possible to also start creating custom dynamic themes (aside all other things like CFW, jailbreak and stuff like that)?
Well, simply because someone’s managed to get those vital informations and disclosed them all. Regardless of the use made of it, this has been a form of piracy in all respects… so, if the updates in the beginning were used only to improve and extend the console’s functions, in order to give the user the best product possible, they’re now also (and especially) used to prevent hacking and everything that could be related to it. But the side effect is that, to do so, very often is necessary to remove certain features or even blocking the possibility of using them: unfortunately, all this leads to a vicious circle, the classic figure of the snake biting its own tail…
Anyway, back to us… don’t worry, my friend: I’m working on the background, and I hope it’ll be ready soon!

The Theme works on 4.0 but when I Click back on Anything Circle button (O) the theme shuts off

You are right the new update won’t let run this class of themes in an OFW 4.0, but not all the animated themes only the animated themes with 100+ frames. Today I’m sad, very sad because all my hours on certain themes like this one has thrown to the garbage for those that update to the new firmware 4.0. For that reason I’m a happy CFW user this is not the first time that Sony remove a funcionality. I Remember with the first thing Sony remove : the PS3 retrocompativility for PS2 games, then Linux , then the capability to use accesories like controllers from diferent creators not only the Sony ones, recently the number of consoles that can be activate the DLC from 5 to 2, now this and other things I can’t remember right now. And as I say I very happy with my CFW because this don’t affect my PS3 capabilities to use this class of themes. But still sad because others that updates their consoles can’t use those themes with 100+ frames. You know to repair this class of themes its not a easy task, I think the problem not is complete the PSJS (Plastation Java Script) that is possible to rewrite with those changes. The real problem is the new firmware that is made to don’t accept more frames. I think only accept 70 frames now. If dificult is create themes with the limitations that us have at the moment that this update don’t came out, now with more limitations implemented will be more dificult to achive better themes.This situation will take time to know if I can repair this class of themes or not, because if I try to repair this theme will cost consume more time that I don’t have and I think with the new limiting restriction will make be difficult to recreate the theme. The theme with 102 frames was difficult to do, now with a limit of 70 frames was more difficult to recreate. Let see what I can do and see what Glowball say about this sad update day and about this problem. This situation will take time to learn and know if I can repair this class of themes or not. You need to update your theme. It was working fine before.
